i sell so little than its something of a hypothesis for me...and in fact i've never sold at a fair - never done one to sell at! but there are costs associated with running a website - i suppose there are costs associated with having a stall at a fair - i just think sometimes at places like that people are looking for a one day bargain/discount. its something i've seen at local shows - not artworks, mostly plantsor horse stuff.
to be honest i've never thought that much except that i'd be uncomfortable having two prices but it seems ok in my mind doing special discounts on one day events.

As far as this particular site (art2arts) is concerned, there can be no debate. It clearly states in the terms and conditions that you cannot offer the paintings for less anywhere else than you have them for sale on their website.
They also offer free delivery Raven so that has to be absorbed by the artist too.

They are pretty well set up, Rob and I joined a short while ago but haven't yet had time to set up our photo's.

We intend selling the paintings we've done on ordinary Loxley Gold canvases on our own sites at the usual price but the ones where we use the Harrison Moore ( dead posh canvases) we will have to charge quite a bit more as not only are they much more expensive than Loxley but also heavier to post.
Eventually only the Harrisons will go onto Art2Arts... er I think.

Do you mean Harris Moore Lorna? I'm going to be treating myself to some of their canvases very soon.

Yep that's the one. Rob got some 'sale' ones a few months back and the difference was incredible. Surface is lovely to paint on and the quality of the wooden support is so superior to anything Loxley does.

Been watching Loxley slowly go downhill as far as quality is concerned, you very rarely get a canvas from them that hasn't got dog-eared or lumpy.
Go for it Jules, they are so worth the money!

Thanks Lorna, it's good to have the recommendation when they're a bit pricey.

they've got some on sale now
http://www.harrismoorecanvases.co.uk/Special-Offers.html

i've always used loxely gold. bought in box cartons but i've not bought any for couple of years as i managed to amass a good collection. part of my "money from sales goes on materials " ethic. made me feel less guilty about buying stuff.
i'd like to try some of these and see the difference.

Was that on your own website Judie?
I just had a scam email on my soap site, they are out in force just now.
Pigs, the lot of them.

What was the scam? Did they take money from you?

No Lorna, didnt fall for it, its a great thing these forums we learn so much from each other, and I am so cynical of most things, really not trusting much at all. so sad to get that way I am afraid, but that seems to be life nowadays, trying always to get something for nothing, or should say oat for nowt.
